Depending on the size, available ressources and if it is a public or private project, each stage can differ on its emphasis. But every good solution in history had at some point all the stages shown in the picture above.
What it is in detail and how we help you at each level? Here you go:
UNDERSTAND
Here we start the problem phase. To create a deep understanding of what is really the challenge is often the hardest part. You often see just the symptoms and you want them gone. To be able to do exactly that on a fundamental level we have to understand the real problem behind the symptoms. That is the starting point for the journey to the solution – and it is exiting!

OBSERVE
In this stage we open up the space and observe how users, workers, managers and stakeholders work in their environment. There we visit them at their workspace and get a good understanding toghether with our clients and interested parties. Furthermore we do research on the topic and put it together – we create an inventary of data, information and viewpoints.

DEFINE POINT-OF-VIEW
This is the time to make a good point. Here we come together again and screen the results of the observations. The outcome is a well understood and agreed on problem-definition with a well defined strategy to go ahead. Here we close the problem-phase and enter the solution-phase.

IDEATE
At this point we start the solution phase and we roll-up our sleves. We get busy developing possible solutions together with you – concepts that have the ability to solve the problem fundamentally. We check and rate every concept of their ability to solve the problem, financial implications, and possibilities to create impact on a larger scale.

PROTOTYPE
A picture says more than thousands words, a prototype probably more than thousands of pictures. We strive to have a prototype of your solution as early as possible to decide if the concept is worth proceeding or if we have to change our approach. In this phase we usually have three phases:
- POC – proof of concept
- LFP – low fidelity product
- MVP – minimum viable product
In this phases we work closely with you and/or your core user groups. We test functionality, usability and implementation. Step by step.
TEST
The last phase is testing. How well does the solution solve the original problem? At this stage we work together with you and your users to resolve the last challenges and develope P01 – the first version which can be rolled out for you! That is the most exiting part: creating real impact and the knowledge to have solved a fundamental problem. Yei!
